From Sophia's Dad...

Although the name of this blog bears both our names, this is my first blog entry! Marg and I leave today for China to follow God’s plan for us. While being parents of Sophia doesn’t completely define us and won’t consume us, this is a defining moment in our lives. Two years ago the first of December, we would have given birth to our first child had it not been for a miscarriage. This year, in the first days of December, we will be bringing home Sophia to her new life!
Way before we had a clue it was unlikely we would give birth biologically, and before Margy got confirmation from God’s Word; God placed a desire in my heart for a daughter from China. It was so strong, I would joke that if we didn’t give birth to a Chinese daughter, I wanted to adopt one!
So, here we are embarking on this journey to the other side of the world. It doesn’t scare me in the least. He has ordered our steps to Sophia from the beginning. He will lead us the rest of the way there and back! My prayer is that everyone who reads this discovers and pursues each defining moment God has for you. And He does have a beautiful plan for each one of us. Thanks to Dima Bruehl, my Russian brother, for reminding me "In you the orphan finds mercy." Hosea 14:3

  5. Yes, Margie and Darren, God does have a beautiful plan. Originally I thought His plan was for me to go to China as well and I was heartbroken when that plan fell through. But His plan plan was for me to adopt from Randolph County, NC! And yes, being a parent changes everything! It gives more purpose than anything else you will ever pursue in your life. After all, THEY are HIS heritage. God bless you both. You will be in my prayers!! ANGIE HILTON DAVIS
