Friday the 13th...

Something clicked for Sophia as far as language goes yesterday. She started saying words we could understand! What a beautiful sound it is. The first thing she started to say was 'the end'. We read to her in the morning and at night and when we get to the end, we say so. So she gets her book and turns quickly to the last page, closes it and says, 'the end'.

Nana and Pawpaw have come for a visit and she out of the blue started saying 'peek a boo'. And this morning at 4:15 as she started to cry, when she saw I was coming, she called me 'momma'. Then I started to cry. Happy tears. So happy I could't go back to sleep. But who cares? My little girl called out to me and meant it. For about a week and a half she had stopped calling me and Darren momma. She had done that since we got home from China. We didn't make a big deal out of it...we just kept referring to each other as momma and daddy. So, for a while now, she wouldn't call us anything until a couple of hours ago. I am her momma. And lost sleep is nothing compared to her little voice calling out to me in the wee hours of the morning. It's like fried chicken and mashed potatos...Out of this world!!
