What Happens Next...

What a glorious day yesterday was! It was if God was opening up the windows of Heaven for us!!! I'm so humbled and thankful to Him...He is breathtaking!!!
Our i800 means that Sophia has been provisionally approved by the US to become a citizen. There are a few more steps to this process...
1. Cabled. This means the USCIS will email China the approval for Sophie to come home. This takes 2 weeks. Usually.
2. Article 5. This is from www.china-adoption-online.com An absolute wonderful resource that explains away the confusion of all the steps!...
The consulate needs to review your new child's visa application (the DS-230), make sure it meets the qualifications for an immigrant visa, and then signs off that everything is in order for the adoption to be completed. This is called the Article 5 letter. You cannot obtain custody of your child until the Article 5 letter is issued!

The consulate takes a standard two weeks to complete this process. If your paperwork is dropped off on a Monday, it will be picked up from the consulate by your agency rep two Mondays later.

Once it's picked up from the consulate, it will be delivered directly to the CCAA for Travel Approval!
3. Travel Approval ...this takes 2-4 weeks. This basically means we have been approved to travel adopt Sophia.
4. Consulate Appointment. Our agent gets us an appointment to make things official at the US Embassy in Guangzhou. This is what our entire trip revolves around. PLEASE pray we can get in as soon as there is an opening!!!

We are SO close!!! Wow...I'm going to CHINA!!!!!!!!!!
